Range Rover P38 (1994-2002) Alpine Radio Head Unit Aux Via Cassette Tape
First and most of all, Do this at your own Risk. I'm not responsible for anything that may happen. I was able to do this on my own Alipne Radio and got it to work.
- Remove the Cassette Module from the Radio
- Locate the DSP Chip. Then remove the chip by disoldering. Why is this important? This chip processes Digital sound from Tape head, if you keep the chip then most of the Analog Audio input from your Aux cable will sound choppy and bad.
- Using your Aux Cable spliited at the end to separate the wires, solder the middle ground cable to one of the chasis body shown
- Solder the Red (Right Audio Channel) to the end of the chip shown
- Solder the White (Left Audio Channel) to the end of the chip shown
- Assemble the Tape back to the radio then test using any Tape
